What is Optimum Spinal Health?

This is a good question. It is listed in the "Five Factors for Good Health" and thus must be very important. It ranks up there with food, water and sleep. Without this, the body could not digest food, swallow water, exercise, sleep or even think properly- nerve flow is the most important thing the body has- and this is why.

Every human being starts out as a tiny set of cells. As they grow and change, they differentiate and become specialized. Some grow into heart cells, liver cells and others still grow into nerve cells. This is all extremely important, and sets the s
tage for their quality of life.

Unknown to many, the spinal cord is one of the first structures to form- fully in place within three short weeks. Many mothers are not even aware of the tiny being inside them at that time. It is critical to understand that nature provides the fetus with the spinal cord first, as it is the most important part of the body.

As the fetus grows, a set of nerves is designated to reach every single part of the body. There are over 1 billion nerves in the human body, and all are important. Nerves provide the link between the brain and the rest of the body. Without this vital link, function would be plain impossible.

The Spine holds the body up and provides a superhighway for the nerves to travel across.
If there is an interruption in this pathway, the nerves cannot continue to function. Wherever the information from the brain was meant to reach is lost forever.

Optimal Spinal Health is when the information traveling along the nerves is uninterrupted, and flowing quickly and easily. In this way, all parts of the body are able to function at 100% capacity, as they were originally designed to do.

The Five Factors of Health

Health is more than one thing. It is so important to understand there must be a balance of many things before the body is truly healthy.

There are five factors of health:

1) Quality food and water
2) Restful sleep
3) Regular exercise
4) A positive mental attitude
5) Optimum spinal health

Each factor is important on its own however only when all five are working with each other does the body obtain a state of wellness.

When one of these factors is compromised, it decreases the ability of the others to function properly. Also if a person is providing their body with 4/5 and lacking one factor, the body will still remain unhealthy. A balanced life leads to a healthy balanced body!
